#1 General Shipman (3-1) wired the field in a local NW3L allowance sprint Aug. 30. This is a speed friendly distance and he should be all over the pace from the inside post.
#3 U. S. Army (2-1) usually runs his race at this course (9 5-1-2) and distance (9 3-2-3). He earned a good number as the favorite at this course/distance Aug, 29, and missed the place by a neck in the David M. Vance Stakes Sept. 29. The stalking favorite owns the best recent numbers and could easily maintain sharp form in his third start after a layoff.
#4 American Xperiment (5-2) has not finished out of the trifecta since December 2022. Steve Asmussen’s gem of consistency is fresh and owns running style versatility.
