#8 Mink’s Palace (3-1) was overmatched in the Raven Run (G2) last time so I will just draw a line through that race. She drops in class and cuts back a furlong, and she is 2-for-2 at six panels. The versatile filly gets the services of Christian Torres and he is enjoying a productive meet. I like her running style versatility.
#9 Haulin Ice (6-1) romped in the Azalea Stakes July 13 and misfired in the Charles Town Oaks (G2) and Raven Run (G2). She was part of the exacta in all five local starts (3 wins), and she finished 1-2 in all six attempts at this distance. She reunites with her winning rider Francisco Arrieta.
#4 Tanya Showers (7-2) is a consistent dirt sprinter for Chris Hartman. The 2-time local winner fired trifecta shots in 7 of 8 starts at this distance, and she exits a nice victory as the favorite in the mud at Churchill. Rafael Bejarano rides her well and she could easily maintain sharp form in her third start after a layoff. A stalking trip is expected.
#5 Girls Weekend (8-1) ran well in all four dirt sprint attempts since moving to the Whitworth Beckman barn. She exits a win in the slop at five panels and might be the one to catch turning for home.
