#11 Arrest (3-1) hit the board in back-to-back local turf routes on Nov. 13 and Dec. 2. The versatile gelding likes this course and distance, and he fits with these if he can work out a trip from the outside post. He has a productive jockey-trainer team in his corner.
#9 Jacks Outlaw (5-1) had his 3-race win streak snapped in a local 7.5T affair Dec. 18. That was his first start since July and he dueled and faded. I like his early-pressing versatility and Franklin Ceballos is 3-for-5 with Jose Silva Jr. He is 6-for-14 at Turf Paradise.
#8 Birth of Cool (2-1) fired trifecta shots in 5 of his last 7 starts in California. He wired the field in a $25k claiming dirt route at LRC Sept. 13 and the runner-up was a next-out winner. Juan Silva (2-for-41 at TUP) claimed him last time and this 5-year-old gelding has struck three times on turf. He should be forwardly placed under 20% turf pilot Karlo Lopez.
#2 Mongolian Memory (10-1) stretches back out and returns to turf in his third start after a layoff. He won a local dirt sprint Nov. 18 and was a wide 5th of 9 from an outer post Dec. 11. He has won at this course and distance before.
