Check out my Saturday (1-4-25) Gulfstream Park Race 10 analysis below.
GP 10 (Mucho Macho Man, 8f) – Post Time 4:52 PM ET
Primary – #3 MCKELLEN, #5 Cool Intentions
Secondary – #6 Sectarian, #1 Guns Loaded
Horse Comments:
#3 McKellen (5-1) stalked outside and scored in his local flat mile bow, and he was second best at CD second time out. He drilled a bullet for this Dec. 28 and Irad Ortiz Jr. is 4-for-10 with Jose D’Angelo recently (9 top three finishes). The McKinzie colt can compete with these if he runs a bit faster.
#5 Cool Intentions (9-2) stalked and scored in his last two starts at seven panels and one mile. The $285k Authentic colt owns a rising numbers pattern and might work out a comfortable trip behind the speed.
#6 Septarian (3-1) won his debut at 4 1/2 furlongs at CT, and clicked right back in an optional-claiming affair at LRL second time out (6f). Chad Brown is his new trainer and Tyler Gaffalione is 0-for-8 with this outfit recently. The Protonico gelding projects a stalking trip.
#1 Guns Loaded (5-2) battled up front and was second best in his 7f bow, and he cut back a furlong and easily went all the way second time out. He earned a strong number last time and is a logical contender from the inside post if he handles the added ground of this race. They paid $800 for the son of Gun Runner and he should attend the pace under Luis Saez.
