#7 Boundfortrouble (7-2) set a pressured pace and was clearly second best in his course/distance bow May 11. The distant show finisher was a next-out winner, and this colt went all the way from the inside post as the strong favorite in a local turf sprint second time out June 7. Luis Saez is 4-for-12 with Jose D’Angelo recently and he should be all over the pace from the outside post in his first start in more than seven months.
#4 Gate to Wire (9-5) was the favorite in his MSW turf sprint debut at SAR Aug. 30 and he pressed from an outer post and won by 1 3/4 lengths. He was the chalk in the Futurity (G3) at 6T second time out and he stalked from the inside post and secured the place. He added blinkers for the BC Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) at DMR Nov. 1 and he finished 10th of 12 from an outer post as a 26-1 longshot. Johnny V hops aboard and he is 3-for-8 with Todd Pletcher recently. A stalking trip is expected.
#5 Turbulent Force (4-1) stalked from an outer post and prevailed by a neck at 4-1 odds in his local 5T bow Dec. 6. He fired a half-mile bullet for this Dec. 22 and should be in the thick of things from the outset.
#1 Torch Is Passed (9-2) ran well in all three all-weather sprints including back-to-back local wins at this distance vs. lesser on Nov. 17 and Dec. 12. He figures to save ground chasing the pace for the productive Vazquez/Ramsey team.
