Check out my Saturday (1-11-25) Gulfstream Park Race 10 analysis below.
GP 10 (Sunshine Classic, FL-bred, 8.5f) – Post Time 4:48 PM ET
Primary – #4 SECRET CHAT
Secondary – #2 Khozeiress, #7 Shaq Diesel, #9 Lightning Tones
Horse Comments:
#4 Secret Chat (3-1) finished 1-2 in all five local starts but still must prove himself around two turns. In a pair of local 2023 starts, he romped in his 6.5f bow and missed by a half-length in the Aventura at 8f second time out. He landed the place in a FL-bred OC-50k/1x affair at 6f last March and that was his first start in 5+ months, and he was a flat 4th of 9 in the G3 Lexington in April. He moved to the Barboza Jr. barn and won back-to-back local races on Nov. 16 (7f) and Dec. 20 (8f). He is getting faster and I like the distance progression, and he might maintain sharp form in his third start after a layoff.
#2 Khozeiress (8-1) usually runs his race at GP (9 4-2-2). He stretches back out in his second start after a layoff and should be forwardly placed under Luis Saez. He stalked and scored in an optional-claiming dirt route at MTH last June.
#7 Shaq Diesel (6-1) finished in the top three in 7 of his last 9 starts around one turn. His two below par efforts during that stretch was a 4th of 5 in the G2 GP Mile and an 8th of 9 in the Sir Shackleton. His new rider Rosario is 23% in route races.
#9 Lightning Tones (12-1) missed by a nose in his first start after the claim Oct. 6, and he finished a close 3rd of 6 Dec. 15. His profitable trainer Carlos Narvaez is 2-for-3 recently and this one owns quality late pace ratings.
