Horse Comments:
#7 Divin Propos (3-1) did not have a smooth trip when finishing 5th of 9 (beaten 3 3/4 lengths) in the G2 Hollywood Turf Cup at 12T Nov. 29. He has tactical speed and enjoys this distance (6 2-1-2). Umberto Rispoli got to know him last time and he is 2-for-8 with Phil D’Amato, and he can get the jump on the closers.
#8 Easter (5-1) went 5-for-8 in 2023 including victories in the restricted Lure, G2 Seabiscuit, and G2 San Gabriel. He went 0-for-6 last year and they have decided to concentrate on longer events in 2025. He goes from 8.5T to 9T to 10T in his third start after a layoff, and the 2-time local winner will try to get involved late under his regular rider Antonio Fresu.
#6 True Quality (8-5) won his last three stakes starts on turf at 11T (G3 Singspiel) and 12T (Colonial Cup, G2 Hollywood Turf Cup). Vincent Cheminaud handled him patiently in his last pair and he should be finishing. He elevated his speed ratings in his last three starts.
#2 There Goes Harvard (6-1) removed blinkers, stalked from post 10, and landed the place in the G2 John Henry Turf at this course/distance in September. He stalked wide from post 13 and weakened to 10th of 13 in the G1 BC Turf at 12T in November. Frankie Dettori takes the call and he should be forwardly placed in a race lacking a confirmed front runner. The 2-time turf winner has not won a race since the 2022 Gold Cup (G1) at 10f on dirt.
