Horse Comments:
#3 Schilflied (5-1) turns back and might finish full of run. She turned back second time out and rolled to a big win at 6.5T (October 2024). She stretched out and was 8th of 11 in the G3 Jimmy Durante, and rallied for the place behind Casalu in the Blue Norther at 8T. She was the favorite in an optional-claiming turf route Jan. 24 and chased the pace and was best of the rest in third. Hector Berrios strings along and she can make some noise from off the pace at a hint of a price.
#5 Casalu (7-5) stalked wide from the outside post and beat Schilifled in the Blue Norther at 8T Dec. 28. She graduated in a dirt sprint and Flavien Prat rides for Bob Baffert.
#9 Acquitted (6-1) moved to turf and stalked, pounced, and earned her diploma at 6T as the favorite in her third career start (September 2024). She pressed above par fractions and folded when running last of 11 in the G3 Jimmy Durante Nov. 30.
#7 As Catch Can (15-1) was a well-beaten 4th of 5 in her dirt sprint bow, and she fired trifecta shots in 4 of 5 route starts since. She drilled a local half-mile bullet for this Feb. 2 and Jonathan Thomas is 4-for-16 at SA. Umberto Rispoli is 1-for-1 with this barn and she will try to get involved from off the pace.
