Check out my Wednesday (2-12-25) Turfway Park Race 9 analysis below.
TP 9 (OC-62.5k, F&M 6f all-weather track) – Post Time 9:55 PM ET
Primary – #6 MARMALADE SKYE, #8 Purr Sea
Secondary – #7 Nice as Pie, #9 Current Climate, #1 Kissed by Fire
Horse Comments:
#6 Marmalade Skye (10-1) stalked the pace and upset a local NW3L allowance sprinters at 12-1 odds on Jan. 1 and that was her first start after the David Jacobson claim. She likes this oval (4 2-2-0) and might be able to step up and score again.
#8 Purr Sea (7-2) sports six wins at this distance and should be forwardly placed from an outer post. She won four sprints last year. Three of those wins were on dirt, and she wired the wired the field in a local sprint last February. She stalked the pace and finished 3rd of 10 in a local sprint when last seen Dec. 21, and winner Lithe Spirit returned to win the local Wishing Well Stakes Jan. 25.
#7 Nice as Pie (9-5) is 4-for-6 with a pair of underneath finishes at Turfway Park. She rallied to hit the board in her last two local sprints as the beaten favorite. She has struck three times at this distance and should be finishing at underlaid odds.
#9 Current Climate (6-1) was the beaten favorite in the same local race Purr Sea exits. The 7-year-old mare sports three local wins and reconnects with her winning rider Alex Achard.
#1 Kissed by Fire (5-1) dueled and split a 10-horse field in the common local sprint on Dec. 21. The inside speed might get brave if able to shake loose early under Vincent Cheminaud.
