Horse Comments:
#1 Grounded (7-2) missed by a nose when last seen in a turf route at TAM Jan. 26. He is 11-for-22 at Presque Isle and should attend the pace from the inside post.
#7 Read On (4-1) wired the field in a synthetic route at GP last September, and did the same thing at that venue Jan. 19. He set the pace and was third in a turf route at TAM Feb. 15, and weakened to 6th of 10 in a turf route March 19. His best chance is to get out there and control the pace under Chantal Sutherland.
#3 Native Land (5-1) exits a show finish in a flat mile synthetic route at TP and he earned a competitive number that day. He might be set for his best in his third start of the year.
#4 Royal Luck (3-1) is a turf router switching to all-weather ground for the first time. He won by a head as the favorite at 8T to end his 2024 campaign, and he settled for the place in all five turf routes this year.
#5 Extrasexybigdaddee (6-1) was part of the trifecta in seven of his last eight starts, and settled for minor awards in five of his last six. He sports back-to-back Laurel Park bullets for this. Wednesday’s rider Antonio Gallardo guided him to back-to-back local runner-up finishes last September and October.
