Check out my Sunday (6-1-25) Santa Anita Park Race 10 analysis below.
SA 10 (Alw-1x, CA-bred, 6.5T hillside) – Post Time 8:38 PM ET
Primary – #4 ELEGANT SWAY, #5 Bit’s Tiger Magic
Secondary – #9 Blue Wildcat
Horse Comments:
#4 Elegant Sway (5-1) makes her third start after a layoff for profitable turf trainer Andy Mathis (22% wins at SA). She chased the pace and missed the show by a nose at 6.5T April 4 (runner-up next-out winner), and showed decent late energy after a less than ideal start and trip May 4. She moves off the rail and Kyle Frey (2-for-5 w/Mathis) strings along, and she might be the value play.
#5 Bit’s Tiger Magic (2-1) was 60 cents on the dollar in her dirt sprint bow (March 2024), and she set a pressured pace and held the place. Winner Robert’s Love clicked right back in the Evening Jewel, and this filly switched to turf and romped on the front end as the favorite April 2024. This is her first start in more than a year and she drilled a 5f bullet for this May 22. Her winning rider Juan Hernandez stays put and she should be right up on the pace.
#9 Blue Wildcat (3-1) rallied to hit the board in her last four turf sprints. She should be finishing from the outside post and can pick up another minor award.
