#2 Kiss Blue (9-2) moved to all-weather ground and graduated in a local route last September, and was a close second in a local route in October. She missed by a neck at a mile and a quarter in December, and was 6th of 9 from the outside post as the beaten favorite at 1 1/4 miles Feb. 6. She likes this oval and projects a stalking trip under sharp local rider Pablo Morales.
#1 Captain Courtney (9-5) won three straight races as the favorite in 2023 by a combined 24 1/4 lengths. Two of those wins were at Presque Isle including the Malvern Rose. She missed all of 2024 and returned from a very long layoff to finish a clear third as the beaten favorite in a local sprint May 3. She stretches back out in her second start after a layoff, and she aired by 10 lengths at this course and distance in her lone route attempt.
#3 Settling Storm (7-2) was part of the trifecta in her last six starts. The turf route specialist was claimed out of her last for $32k and she fits with these if she handles synthetic.
#4 Sky Victory (8-1) ran well in her last two claiming turf routes as the favorite at Laurel. She can make some noise in this spot if she handles the footing for high percentage trainer Brittany Russell.
