Horse Comments:
#9 Peace Cloud (4-1) wired the field in a MSW turf route second time out. He set the pace and weakened as a 69-1 outsider in the Columbia on March 8 and that race featured Zulu Kingdom (G1 American Turf winner) and Reagan’s Wit (James W. Murphy winner). His new rider Pablo Morales is 20% at the current stand and trainer Timothy Hamm is 20% with his turf to synthetic starters.
#3 Mr. Colossal (9-2) ran well in both local MSW starts as the favorite including a 2-length victory at this distance on June 10. He is back in a week and a stalking trip is expected.
#4 Small Field (3-1) was part of the trifecta in seven of his last ten starts. He rallied to miss by a neck at 7T May 26 and that was his first start in more than eight months. This is his first start on all-weather ground.
#8 Aleman (7-2) has not won a race since December 2023, and hit the board in half of his last fourteen starts. He finished in the top three in all five local starts (2 wins).
#7 Tempus (5-1) hit the board in his last four local routes. The 8-year-old gelding has a good overall record at this course and distance, and the late runner might move up in his second start of the year.
