Check out my Wednesday (6-18-25) Churchill Downs Race 7 analysis below.
CD 7 (Str-Alw-20k, fillies and mares, 6 furlongs dirt) – Post Time 3:50 PM ET
Primary – #7 LITTLE BLAZE, #2 Sombra Dorada
Secondary – #4 De’ Ans Eighty
Horse Comments:
#7 Little Blaze (3-1) stalked outside, led, and was best of the rest in third in a similar local affair at 6 1/2 panels on May 29. She won four races at this distance and should work out a comfortable early-pressing trip from the outside post under Jose Ortiz.
#2 Sombra Dorada (5-1) is a 3-time local winner. She added blinkers and set a pressured pace and landed the place in the mud on April 10 (winner next-out winner). This one was 2-1 in a local sprint on May 23 and she stalked outside and won by 4 lengths.
#4 De’ Ans Eighty (7-2) was part of the trifecta in eight of her last ten starts. Robertino Diodoro claimed her on Feb. 1 and she cruised by 5 1/2 lengths in an entry level allowance event at Horseshoe Indy on April 23. She was the favorite in a local sprint on May 29 and she stalked the pace and landed the place. She has a good overall record at this distance and owns running style versatility.
