Check out my Friday (7-11-25) Saratoga Race Course Race 10 analysis below.

SAR 10 (OC-100k/2x, 8.5T) – Post Time 6:19 PM ET
Primary – #12 KING OF ASHES, #2 Asbury Park
Secondary – #7 Fond Farewell, #9 Souper Times, #11 Strate Cash

Horse Comments:

#12 King of Ashes (5-1) was part of the exacta in four of five route starts including a pair of runner-up finishes on turf. The versatile Street Sense colt stalked, led, and missed by a neck in the Audubon at CD May 31, and winner World Beater returned to finish second in the G1 Belmont Derby. Irad Ortiz, Jr. is 2-for-8 with Brendan Walsh, and he drilled a TP bullet July 4 and this is his third start after a layoff.

#2 Asbury Park (2-1) was the favorite in his local turf route bow last summer and he got going too late and split a 10-horse field (beaten 2 lengths). He returned from a layoff of 9+ months and rallied to break his maiden at this course/distance June 6 (first lasix), and show finisher Tom Collins graduated by a nose in a local turf route July 4. Chad Brown is a profitable 28% with his second after a layoff starters and Flavien Prat got acquainted with him last time. Dam has tossed five turf winners (3 stakes winners).

#7 Fond Farewell (8-1) was the favorite in his 5.5T bow and he rallied to win by less than a length in a nice effort. He is bred to handle longer distances and Walden is 29% with first route starters.

#9 Souper Times (8-1) stalked from post 10 and earned his diploma in his turf route bow at GP in January. He was distant second and well-beaten fourth in his last two dirt starts, and he ran into River Thames and Grande in those races. Casse shows a profit with his dirt/turf starters and he drilled a local half-mile bullet for this June 24.

#11 Strate Cash (6-1) was 40 cents on the dollar in his 6T bow at SA in March and he stalked and scored by 3+ lengths. Cherie DeVaux is his new trainer and Jose Ortiz takes the call.
