Horse Comments:
#1 Prince of Ayrshire (8-1) rallied to win his last two local routes and he earned an improved number on July 14. He figures to save ground behind the speed for Team Spieth and the price might be right.
#7 Adios Buccaneer (4-1) set above par fractions and was second best in a similar local route July 8. He owns early-pressing versatility and earned an improved number last time.
#2 Welaka (9-5) won a dirt race at this distance at Ellis Park last summer. He hit the board in two of three all-weather routes at Turfway earlier this year, and was third on fast dirt and last of 6 in the mud at Churchill in his last pair. Recently hot rider Antonio Gallardo takes the call and he will try to get involved from off the pace.
#5 Maximum Faith (6-1) landed the show in his local route debut last fall. He returned from a layoff and dueled and finished second July 14, and was placed first through disqualification. He is all upside and figures to impact the pace.
#3 Anchises (6-1) won three of his last four local starts. He exits back-to-back forwardly placed route victories and should make his presence felt from the outset.
