#6 Privman (5-2) landed the place in his first three sprints and was the beaten favorite in two of those races. Bob Baffert’s $625k colt stretched out and turned away Penalty Box to graduate by 2 3/4 lengths July 20 and it was 8+ lengths back to the show finisher. Juan Hernandez got acquainted with him last time and he might be the one to catch.
#1 Lyell’s Song (3-1) rallied to miss by a neck from an outer post in a fast local flat mile affair July 19. Antonio Fresu sticks with him and Mark Glatt is sending out winners at the current stand.
#7 Brazenly (4-1) likes hitting the board. The 4-for-35 gelding has not won since August 2024. Since that win, he is 0-for-13 with ten minor placings. The 7-year-old gelding returned to dirt and landed the place behind romping winner Pony Express June 15, and he raced wide from post 10 and ended up 3+ lengths behind Lyell’s Song in an okay show finish at this course and distance July 19.
#2 Feel the Magic (7-2) was part of the exacta in five of his last seven starts and he ran well in both flat mile attempts. He has tactical speed and an inner post.
