KEE 6 (Alw-130k/2x, Fillies & Mares, 1 1/2 miles turf) – Post Time 3:40 PM ET –
Primary – #5 ARYA STARK
Secondary – #6 Royal Suite, #4 Poppy the Princess
Horse Comments:
#5 Ayra Stark (7-5) won by 6 lengths at 1 3/8 miles on turf in her final start in Argentina last year. She was last of 8 in her first start in this country on dirt, and returned to turf and finished third July 11. She got back on the beam in a sharp victory at 1 3/16 miles on turf at Colonial Downs Aug. 16, and she chased and weakened in the G3 Ladies Marathon at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 6. Jose Ortiz takes the call and she is a logical contender in this spot.
#6 Royal Suite (7-2) ran well in her last three turf starts at Colonial Downs. She rallied for the place in a flat mile special weight affair on July 9, and she picked up her first win at 1 1/16 miles on July 30. She exits an allowance win at 1 1/16 miles and stretches out to a mile and a half. Irad Ortiz, Jr. hops aboard Ken McPeek’s Tiz the Law filly.
#4 Poppy the Princess (9-2) might try to steal this race on the front end. She was right up on the pace in back-to-back wins in the slop in June and July, and exits a 5th of 8 in the Ellis Park Turf.
