Fast main track and firm turf course. One dueling front runner won at one mile on dirt. On the turf course, a stalking favorite won the flat mile opener, a closing favorite scored at 6f, a last-to-first favorite won at 6.5f on the hillside course, a 1.90-1 closer tallied at 9f, and an even money favorite stalked and scored in the flat mile finale (rail at 30 feet).  

Juan Hernandez booted home a pair. 

The $2 Pick 6 pool was $284,712 and tickets with six winners paid $688.00. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $19.60.

Santa Anita Recap for Saturday (10-11-25)

Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner at 6 1/2 panels on dirt. On the turf course, an 8-1 stalker graduated in the 8f opener, a stalking favorite won at 6f, a 5-2 stalker earned his diploma at 6f, stalking favorite Man O Rose won the California Flag Handicap on the downhill course, and a 16-1 pace prompter pulled off the upset in the 9f finale (rail at 20 feet).  

Hat trick for Juan Hernandez (2 turf sprint wins). 

Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 10-11-25 

California Flag Handicap (CA-bred, 6.5T hillside): Flyover set a fast pace and Man O Rose ($6.40) chased from second, made the first move, and held off Lovesick Blues to win by a nose. The latter just missed and was 1 1/4 lengths in front of Book Smart. Shea Brennan, Sir Rocket, Flyover, and Cali Cat also ran. Edwin Maldonado rode the winner for Jeff Mullins. Fractions: 20.88, 42.43, 1:04.73, 1:11.07. 

Oct. 11 Claims: Race 2 – Miracle Ball ($20k, Jesus Mendoza). Race 4 – Clooney ($50k, Mark Glatt).

The $2 Pick 6 pool was $88,569 and there were no tickets with six winners. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $5,069.60. There will be a Pick 6 carryover of $47,318 when live racing resumes on Sunday, Oct. 12.

Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner at one mile on dirt. On the turf course, 3-1 stalker Sneaker won the California Distaff Handicap at 6.5f on the downhill course, a front running favorite graduated at 8f, a last-to-first closer struck at 6-1 odds at one mile, a stalking favorite tallied at 6f, a 7-2 stalker won at 6f, and a 24-1 dueling front runner earned his diploma at 6f (rail at 10 feet). 

Kazushi Kimura booted home a pair. 

Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 10-12-25 

California Distaff Handicap (6.5T hillside): My value top choice Sneaker ($8.40) stalked the pace, battled with race favorite Grand Slam Smile, and prevailed by a head. Grand Slam Smile just missed and Issa Court was another half-length back in third. Bit’s Tiger Magic set the pace and weakened to fourth, and Moment’s Pleasure trailed throughout. Umberto Rispoli rode the winner for George Papaprodromou. Fractions: 21.79, 43.51, 1:05.53, 1:11.73. 

The $2 Pick 6 pool was $432,378 and tickets with six winners paid $139,155.60. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $1,222.00.

Santa Anita Recap for Monday (10-13-25)

Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner at 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt. On the turf course, a 7-2 stalker won the opener at 6.5f on the downhill course, a 7-2 stalker scored at 6f, stalking favorite Vibez captured the Swingtime Stakes at one mile, and a 5-1 stalker graduated in the 6f finale. 

Hat trick for Antonio Fresu (2 dirt wins) and Juan Hernandez (2 turf wins). Peter Eurton (turf) and Doug O’Neill both saddled two winners.

Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 10-13-25

Swingtime Stakes (8T): The race flow favored stalking favorites Vibez and Word Play and it came down to those two. Vibez ($7.20) from post 11 worked out a clean tactical trip and beat Word Play by a neck. Word Play was in range throughout from post 3 under Rispoli and she just missed in a quality effort. Nadette (FR) rallied from the back of the pace and edged pace prompter Venganza for show honors. Raw Ability, Watchtower, Sun of Hill, Baltic Fire, Mahina, Granny Budgie (GB), Violeta M (ARG), and Miss Roberts (GB) also ran. Juan Hernandez rode the winner for Peter Eurton. Fractions: 23.55, 47.59, 1:11.86, 1;23.45, 1:34.93.   

The $2 Pick 6 pool was $55,304 and tickets with six winners paid $29,529.60. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $188.60.
