#6 Thebestisyettobe (3-1) stalked and scored at 3-1 odds in a $25k claimer at 8T May 16 and that was her first start since 2022. She was the 3-2 favorite at 8T June 6 and she rallied to win by 1 3/4 lengths. She was 2-1 in an 11T affair on Aug. 14 and she rallied from far back to miss by a half-length. She was stuck in the outside post and split a 12-horse field at 8T Sept. 6 and Word Play won that one and returned to land the place in the Swingtime Stakes. Her winning rider Antonio Fresu strings along and she can bounce back with a win.
#2 Eternal Reign (5-2) tried a longer distance and stalked the pace and finished an even third at 11T for Phil D’Amato and Juan Hernandez Aug. 14 and her stablemate Thebestisyettobe was second that day. She is 1-for-10 with seven minor awards.
#5 Cornelia Fort (7-2) has been in good form since the spring. She landed the place from the outside post as the favorite at 8T May 2, and finished second to Sneaker and was placed first through disqualification in the Fran’s Valentine at 8T May 24. She landed the place in an allowance affair at 8T June 12 and exits a clear show finish behind Grand Slam Smile and Sneaker in the Solana Beach.
#4 Hey Jessie (6-1) had an uncomfortable trip in a sophomore filly flat mile turf race at SA Sept. 28. Mike Smith sticks with her and better seems possible.
