Horse Comments:
#8 Tina Turner (5-2) was 5-2 in her dirt sprint bow at LRC and she broke slow, chased wide, and won by a half-length, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. Grazen is a decent turf sire and dam has tossed seven winners from eight starters (3 turf winners – 2 stakes winners). Armando Ayuso sticks and he is 3-for-12 with Knapp (5% first turf trainer).
#5 Mayacama (3-2) was part of the exacta in three of her last four starts. She stretched out, moved to turf, attended above par fractions, and held the place in a good effort at 8T June 16. She was 16-1 that day and ended up splitting a 10-horse field at 8-1 odds at this course/distance Aug. 8. She set the pace and prevailed by a head as the favorite at 8T Aug. 31 and runner-up Ima Joker was a next-out winner. Her winning rider Juan Hernandez strings along and she turns back and owns running style versatility.
#4 Blue Wildcat (6-1) returned to turf following a show finish in a Clm-25k dirt sprint at DMR Aug. 22, and she rallied for the place at 6T Sept. 26. She hit the board in six of seven local turf starts and I like her chances underneath.
