On the turf course, a last-to-first closer won at 1.90-1 odds at one mile, a 5-1 closer scored at 5f, a 19-1 stalker tallied at 8f, a 4-1 closer won at 8f, and a front running favorite won the flat mile finale (rail at 18 feet).
Mirco Demuro and Umberto Rispoli both guided home a pair of turf winners.

He dueled outside, kicked clear, and was best by a length and a half. 26-1 longshot Drop Um chased the pace and held the place by a half-length over my top choice Shea Brennan. Clovisconnection, Stamp My Passport, Style Cat, and R Heisman also ran. Edwin Maldonado rode the winner for Jeff Mullins. Fractions: 22.32, 44.63, 1:08.82, 1:21.66.

Betty Grable (7f): Grand Slam Smile ($3.40) was best as the favorite. The popular winner chased from second and wore down 11-1 pace setter Issa Court to win by a length and a quarter. The latter ran a quality race and was clearly second best. No Cap chased from third and stayed there throughout, and Hot Girl Walk, Tina Turner, Sexy Blue, and Sneaker also ran. William Antongeorgi rode the winner for Sean McCarthy. Fractions: 22.45, 45.41, 1:09.86, 1:22.34.
