#2 Little Miss Curlin (3-1) was the favorite in her 5f bow at Delta Downs on Oct. 22 and she dueled and kicked away to win by 4 1/4 lengths. The daughter of Curlin drilled a bullet for this on Nov. 12 and her dam Mylady Curlin (2-time graded winner) has produced two winners from as many starters.
#5 Swampy (4-1) broke on top and cruised to an easy win in her Evangeline Downs debut in the slop and the show finisher was a next-out winner. She was 21-1 in her bow and 1.90-1 in a state bred stakes race at Delta Downs second time out, and she stalked, led, and missed by a neck at 7f, and it was 7+ lengths back to the show finisher. She cuts back a furlong in her second start off a short layoff and this is a speed friendly distance.
#1 El Sunshine (5-1) won her career debut at Lone Star and she hit the board in her last two state bred stakes starts. She figures to save ground behind the speed.
#6 Liteupthenite (7-2) was part of the trifecta in all four starts. She beat Swampy at 7f last time and the patient type might run out ground at six panels. I like her more underneath.
