#4 Yellow Card (9-2) landed the place in the G1 Franklin-Simpson at 6.5T at KD in his final start of 2024. He returned from a long layoff and missed by a neck as the favorite at 5T July 25, and stalked and scored as the even money favorite at 5T Aug. 23. He pressed, led, and finished a half-length behind Reef Runner in the G2 Eddie D at 6.5T last time. He finished 1-2 in his last four turf sprints and he cuts back to his winning distance. He likes this turf course ands projects an early-pressing trip under his winning rider Kazushi Kimura.
#5 Sorrento Sky (5-1) finished 3 lengths behind Yellow Card in a respectable show finish in the G2 Eddie D last time. Flavien Prat takes the call and this one was part of the trifecta in seven of his last eight starts (3 allowance wins).
#9 Unconquerable Keen (7-2) rallied to beat next-out winners Sorrento Sky and Bossy Sully in this event last year, and he also captured the Stormy Liberal in 2023. He was third in both turf sprints this year and this is his first start since May. Umberto Rispoli sticks with him.
#1 Big City Lights (4-1) was 8th of 14 in the G1 BC Sprint Nov. 1 and that was his first start since January. That was his 14th career start and the first time he finished out of the trifecta. The dirt sprint specialist worked on turf at DMR Nov. 23 and his new rider Mirco Demuro wins races with Richard Mandella.
