#7 Pavel’s Etoile (5-1) is 1-for-8 with five minor awards and all of those races were MSW events. She missed by a neck at 6T Sept. 27 and that was her first start in 11+ months. She graduated at 5T Nov. 7 and she is 0-for-4 with a second and a third on dirt. She is faster this year and should be forwardly placed from a comfortable outer post.
#8 Tina Turner (6-5) was 5-2 in her local bow at this distance and she chased wide and won by a half-length (show finisher next-out winner). She struck again in a turf sprint second time out, and she was 5th of 7 in the Betty Grable at 7f on dirt Nov. 9. This is an easier spot and she is fast enough to win this for Ayuso/Knapp.
#2 Brookys Gal (5-1) is a 10-for-29 filly and she was part of the trifecta in nine of her last ten starts (3 wins). She rallied to finish a half-length behind Clubhouse Bride at this course/distance in September, and she frequently runs her race at this distance (11 2-5-3).
#1 Clubhouse Bride (3-1) stalked, led, and missed by a half-length at 6f in May, and he was up the track in a turf sprint at DMR in July. She returned to dirt and stalked and scored in a similar local sprint in September and her new trainer Andy Mathis is 19% first after the claim. She is 0-for-7 with a runner-up finish on turf and 3-for-7 with a runner-up finish and two show finishes on fast dirt, and she is 2-for-2 at LRC and 2-for-2 at 5.5f.
