#1 Logical Myth (7-2) stalked from the outside post and beat a next-out winner by a neck in a similar course/distance affair Dec. 30. The 10-year-old gelding figures to save ground stalking the pace and he might be able to score again.
#5 Sir Maximus (4-1) controlled the pace and wired the field in a local flat mile dirt race Dec. 8, and he set a pressured pace and split an 8-horse field in the same Dec. 30 race Logical Myth exits. He has struck four times at this distance and might get brave on the front end in his third start off a layoff.
#7 Coastal Kid (3-1) was part of the trifecta in 7 of his last 9 starts. He exits a neck defeat in a local six panel sprint, and the 4-time local winner stretches back out. He is 0-for-8 with three runner-up finishes and a show finish at one mile.
