Horse Comments:
#3 Sing Sing (9-2) stretched out, moved to turf, and wired the field in a flat mile MSW affair at Ellis Park last summer. He returned from a layoff of 7+ months and did not have the smoothest stalking trip when finishing an even 4th of 12 at KEE April 12. Jose Ortiz sticks with Mark Casse’s Tiz the Law gelding and he might move up in his second start after a long layoff.
#1 Chasing Liberty (8-5) stretched out and won the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance at DMR last fall, and started 2025 with a turf route stakes win in the Texas Turf Mile Jan. 25. He was third as the beaten favorite in the Black Gold March 1, and was 5th of 12 in the G3 Transylvania at KEE last time. He figures to save ground stalking the pace under Luis Saez.
#7 Clock Tower (5-2) might be best of the speed types. He is 2-for-2 at this distance including a stakes score in the Cecil B. DeMille (G3) at DMR last fall. They tried him in a Derby points race in the Robert Lewis (G3) and he was beaten 13 lengths, and he returned to turf, battled on the pace, and weakened to 8th of 12 in the G3 Transylvania April 7. He adds lasix and might get brave if able to shake loose early.
#4 Discreet Dancer (6-1) graduated at this distance on turf and was 4th in the Pulpit and 5th in the Cutler Bay in his next two stakes starts. He rallied to miss by a nose in an optional-claiming turf route at CD May 9, and he would be coming back in less than a week if he runs here. He can get involved in the stretch if the pace heats up.
