#10 Cheever (3-1) was an even third in his 6.5f bow and earned an improved number in a clear runner-up finish at 7f June 14. He stretched out after two sprints on July 20 and he chased from third before fading to 5th of 13 (beaten 13 lengths), and winner Privman clicked right back Aug. 9. Mark Glatt’s $700k purchase has been gelded since his last start and he adds blinkers and turns back. Antonio Fresu stays put and he is 24% with this outfit and he worked a half-mile from the gate Aug. 31. His dam Electric Forest won the G3 Doubledogdare in 2019.
#5 Modus Bestia (6-1) was a good second at 16-1 odds in his dirt sprint bow at SA in January. He faded in a route second time out, and set the pace and faded in a sprint at KEE in April. He stalked and weakened to 8th of 9 at 5T in May, and he returned to SoCal and set the pace and finished a close, clear third in a similar local sprint at 12-1 odds July 18. Flavien Prat ends up here and he is 1-for-2 with Richard Baltas.
#3 Latitude (3-1) is a $270k Candy Ride colt and dam has produced three winners from as many starters. He sports seven local works for this and John Sadler can strike with a FTS.
#4 Twelfth Night (6-1) is a Quality Road gelding and dam has tossed five winners from six starters (2 stakes winners).Jeff Mullins shows a +ROI with FTS and debut MSW runners He had a local half-mile bullet Aug. 2 and worked from the gate Aug. 23.
