Check out my Saturday (9-13-25) Woodbine Races 6 & 8 analysis below.
WO 6 (G1 Summer Stakes, 2yo, 8f inner turf) – Post Time 3:54 PM ET
Primary – #10 WILD DESERT
Secondary – #9 Military Time, #1 Argos, #5 Two Out Hero, #6 Bill of Ice, #4 Thesecretadversary
Horse Comments:
#10 Wild Desert (5-2) is an overseas shipper exiting a show finish in a G2 at 7T. Dam has produced two stakes winners and he could easily take this for Buick/Appleby. This trainer won this race in 2021 (Albahr-GB) and 2022 (Mysterious Night-IRE), and Buick was aboard the latter.
#9 Military Time (12-1) was 2-1 in his all-weather sprint debut on Aug. 31 and he stalked from the inside post and cruised to a strong win. Gun Runner is a 5% first turf sire and dam Red Cabernet won six turf races including the Victoriana (8.5T) and Eternal Search (8.5T). They paid $350k for this one and Mark Casse is a profitable 17% with his first route runners, and he worked 5f on turf Aug. 15. Casse saddled the winner of this race in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2020.
#1 Argos (8-1) was 9-1 in his 5.5T bow on July 13 and he rallied to beat next-out winner Zeus’s Echo. He was 9-2 in the local Soaring Free at 6.5T Aug. 16 and he stalked wide from the outside post and missed the place by a neck. Flavien Prat got to know him last time and Riley Mott shows a profit with his first route runners. He should save ground behind the speed.
#5 Two Out Hero (3-1) set the pace and won by a dozen lengths as the chalk in his all-weather sprint bow on July 13, and he stalked and scored from the inside post as the favorite in the Soaring Free at 6.5T Aug. 16. The $240k War Front colt stretches out after two sprints and Kevin Attard won this race once (El Soprano in 2001).
#6 Bill of Ice (20-1) is also trained by Kevin Attard. He was 7-2 in his local turf route bow Aug. 24 and he rallied to win by 3 3/4 lengths. Dam has produced two stakes winners.
#4 Thesecretadversary (6-1) was part of the exacta in all four overseas turf starts. Frankie Dettori ends up here and his class ratings put him in the conversation.

WO 8 (G1 Natalma, 2yo Fillies, 8f inner turf) – Post Time 5:02 PM ET
Primary – #5 DANCE TO THE MUSIC, #10 Deep Learning
Secondary – #2 Pina Colada, #3 Sweet Fusion
Horse Comments:
#5 Dance to the Music (2-1) was 2-1 in her 6T bow at Newmarket (GB) and she was forwardly placed and won by a length. She is bred to handle longer distances and her stakes winning dam Miss Lucifer (FR) has produced three stakes winners. Charles Appleby won this race in 2018 (La Pelosa) and 2021 (Wild Beauty-GB). William Buick takes the call and he wins races with this barn.
#10 Deep Learning (5-2) was the favorite in her turf route bow at Saratoga on Aug. 8 and she rallied to win by 3 1/4 lengths in a visually pleasing effort. Flavien Prat rides back and he is 22% with Chad Brown. They paid $325k for this Cairo Prince filly and she shows three works since her debut.
Mark Casse has won this race eight times and he has two longshots this year. #2 Pina Colada (20-1) is still a maiden after two starts and she added blinkers, moved to turf, and missed by a nose in an improved effort second time out. #3 Sweet Fusion (10-1) sat in midpack and won her 6T bow at 9-1 odds July 26, and she rallied for the place in the Catch a Glimpse at 6.5T Aug. 16.
