Check out my Tuesday (9-30-25) Presque Isle Downs Race 7 analysis below.

PID 7 (OC-40k/2x, 3&up, 1 mile 70 yards all-weather) – Post Time  3:26 PM ET
Primary – #4 HE’S A MESS, #3 Calvin’s Ride
Secondary – #6 McCullough, #2 Impacto, #7 Extrasexybigddaddee

Horse Comments:

#4 He’s a Mess (3-1) was claimed for $25k by Scooter Davis on June 16 and he was a distant third that day (first start in 7+ months). He romped as the favorite vs. similar local routers on July 9 and clicked right back in the Hard Spun on July 21. He was third in the Whisman Memorial on Aug. 11 and exits a 7th of 9 in the Presque Isle Mile. He adds blinkers and is entered for the $40k tag due to his win at this level in July. He reconnects with his winning rider Rosario Montanez and he is a profitable 34% with this outfit.

#3 Calvin’s Ride (6-1) was part of the exacta in all six local route since moving to the Kevin Rice barn. The versatile gelding captured his last three local starts at this distance including a victory as my top choice Sept. 15.

#2 Impacto (9-2) had his 8-race trifecta streak come to an end when finishing a troubled fourth in a local sprint Sept. 9. His trainer Juan Arriagada is a profitable 26% with his first route starters.

#6 McCullough (5-2) landed the place in his last two turf routes as the favorite at Tampa Bay for Chad Brown. This is his first start since March and Brittany Russell is his new trainer. The late runner returns as a gelding and Antonio Gallardo is his new rider.

#7 Extrasexybigdaddee (10-1) rallied for the place in a local OC-17.5k route on Sept. 19 and Scooter Davis is a profitable 26% with his first after the claim starters. The veteran gelding finished in the top three in 22 of 27 local starts. His new rider Scott Spieth is a 23% local rider and he shows a +ROI in route races.
