Check out my Wednesday (10-8-25) Keeneland Race 8 analysis below.

KEE 8 (Alw-130k/2x, 3&up, 8.5T) – Post Time  4:44 PM ET
Primary – #6 GILDED CRAKEN, #7 Cameo Performance
Secondary – #8 Mountain Bear, #3 Wyoming Bill

Horse Comments:

#6 Gilded Craken (9-2) was part of the exacta in five of six turf starts (1 win). He romped by 8 lengths in the mud on July 12 and was second by a head and second by a neck in his last two turf routes. Jose Ortiz sticks with him and he should make his presence felt from the outset.

#7 Cameo Performance (7-5) added blinkers and rallied for the show in the restricted Tapit Stakes at KD Aug. 28. He graduated at this course/distance last year and his winning rider Tyler Gaffalione stays put. He sports back-to-back TP bullets for this.

#8 Mountain Bear (7-2) settled for minor awards in five of his last six starts and he fired a local turf bullet for this Sept. 30. He has not won a race since October 2023 (10-race losing streak).

#3 Wyoming Bill (12-1) had his 5-race trifecta streak come to an end when finishing 8th of 9 in the G1 Woodbine Mile (wide trip). He removes blinkers and Ortiz Jr. takes the call, and the late running Curlin colt drilled a half-mile bullet for this on Oct. 1.
