#6 Merry Madison (3-1) stalked and scored as the favorite in a Mcl-100k affair at 6f Nov. 6 and the runner-up was a next-out winner. She dueled and weakened to 4th of 6 at one mile Nov. 28. Phil Bauer is 24% with this type of layoff runner and her winning rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. stays put. She ran well in both starts at this distance and might work out the right tactical trip behind honest fractions.
#7 Kapoor (5-2) made the running and kicked away as the favorite in a special weight affair at seven panels last May, and she dusted a next-out winner at Tampa Bay Jan. 23 (first start in 7+ months). She is fast enough to make the lead and she might go all the way again.
#4 Chatter (9-5) moved to the Saffie Joseph, Jr. barn and set the pace and missed by a neck Dec. 20 and winner Lynn’s Milky Way clicked right back Jan. 22. Tyler Gaffalione got to know her last time and she should impact the pace.
