Horse Comments:
#6 Cornucopian (6-5) battled on the pace and dusted a next-out winner in his OP bow as the favorite February 2025. The bettors went overboard in the G1 Arkansas Derby at 9f second time out and he got cooked on a pace duel and weakened to 4th of 9. He was hammered to 15 cents on the dollar in an OC affair at one mile at AQU last April (one turn), and he pressed the pace and finished a disappointing 2nd of 3. He was supposed to run in the G1 Malibu in December but he reared and fell in the paddock and was an automatic scratch (uninjured). He was 1-2 in a local OC-50k/1x affair at 6.5f Jan. 31 and he stalked and dominated by 3 lengths (show finisher next-out winner). Bob Baffert’s top rider Juan Hernandez got to know him last time and he is probably the one to beat at short odds.
#7 Judge Miller (12-1) makes his first start since November 2025 and Mark Glatt is a profitable 20% with this type of layoff runner. He is 3-for-5 with a second and a third at SA, and he is 1-for-1 at seven panels. Kazushi Kimura is 4-for-9 with this outfit recently and an outside stalking trip is expected.
