Horse Comments:
#5 Thirty Two Chunk (3-2) battled on the pace from the inside post and weakened to 4th of 7 Dec. 29 (Uncle Chilly 2nd). He was my 3-1 top choice in his second start off a layoff Feb. 6 and he dueled from the outside post in a 5-horse field and was clearly second best. Uncle Chilly beat him last time and he won again on March 20 and April 25. This one owns the best last race number and has been freshened for this, and he should be right up on the pace under his winning pilot Kazushi Kimura.
#3 Ahrens (5-2) dueled and weakened in his MSW bow as a 40-1 outsider at 6T in January. He dropped into a Mcl-32k dirt sprint second time out in February and set a pressured pace and edged clear by 5+ lengths as the chalk. He chased above par fractions before weakening at 8T last time. John Sadler is 27% with his second after a claim starters and he is back in a preferred dirt sprint and should be forwardly placed. His new rider Joel Rosario has relocated to SoCal and he used to win races with this barn.
#8 Map Me Sexy (9-2) was last of 10 in his MSW dirt sprint bow as a 24-1 longshot last year. He returned a half a year later in a local Mcl-32k sprint and pressed and scored as the even money favorite. He was 6th of 8 from the outside post in a turf route last time, and he returns to a main track sprint in his third start off a long layoff.
#6 Cruisin for Cali (4-1) stalked and scored in a MOC-62.5k extended sprint March 22, and he was up the track in a turf route last time. He turns back and returns to dirt, and a stalking trip is expected.
