Horse Comments:
#1 Christel Clean (3-1) was part of the trifecta in her first six starts (6 2-3-1), and she missed the show by a neck from an outer post as the beaten favorite at 6T April 26. Last time, she had an uncomfortable trip and ended up 6th of 10 at 6.5T. She was the favorite in a dirt sprint at DMR last November and won that CA-bred OC-20k/1x dirt sprint by a half-length. She moved to turf, dueled on the lead, and was second best at 6T Jan. 24. She rallied to miss by a nose at 6.5T Feb. 22. She is 0-for-4 with two runner-up finishes on turf and 2-for-4 with a second and a third on dirt (both wins at DMR). Joel Rosario sticks with John Sadler’s filly and I like her consistency and versatility.
#5 Cecelia Street (7-2) was part of the trifecta in 8 of 11 starts and she hit the board in a trio of state bred stakes races. Antonio Fresu strings along and she fits with these.
#3 Dorie Miller (5-2) is a 2-for-37 mare and she hit the board in 14 of 17 starts since her last win on 9-20-24. I do not trust her as the favorite and she might be best used underneath.
