#2 Hidden Rose (3-1) returned to dirt and aired by a dozen lengths as the favorite at FL June 9, and she pressed, led, and was second best in a similar local flat mile affair July 9. Her numbers jumped up in her last pair and she is a logical early-pressing contender if she handles the added furlong of this race.
#1 Answered Prayers (5-2) was 5-1 in her extended sprint debut in the slop in March and she broke last from the inside post and finished 5th of 9. She added lasix and stretched out second time out, and she stalked the pace and graduated by 2 1/2 lengths at KEE in April. She stalked the pace and was clearly second best in her first start vs. winners on May 17, and she stalked from the rail and landed the place in the slop when last seen June 26. She reunites with her winning rider Junior Alvarado and a ground saving tactical trip is expected.
#5 Sailaway (5-1) was up the track on turf last time and I will just draw a line through that one. She is 0-for-5 with zero top three finishes on turf. She is better on dirt and moves up on a wet track, and she won her lone local dirt attempt and tallied at this distance at AQU in May.
#7 Seraphia (7-2) fired trifecta shots in 7 of her last 9 starts. She drilled a local training track bullet for this July 20 and her new rider Jose Ortiz is 30% with Steve Asmussen recently. An outside stalking trip is anticipated.
