Horse Comments:
#2 Necking (7-2) is in good form for quality local trainer Brandon Kulp (25% at PID). In his last three local routes, he was 2nd by a head, 1st by 2 1/4 lengths, and 3rd by a length and a quarter. He has a versatile running style and must be respected in his current form.
#7 Running for Joy (10-1) stretches back out in his third start of the year. He has struck twice at this distance and is capable of impacting the pace.
#6 Kid Cairo (4-1) moves to the Randall Russell barn and he is a 21% at the current stand. He puts blinkers back on and hit the board in both previous all-weather attempts.
#8 Triple Start (3-1) shipped to PID and missed by a neck June 3, and he won his last three local claiming route starts. The sharp closer steps up in class and is sharp enough to threaten this crew.
#1 Outsider (6-1) exits a smart local claiming sprint score and he won a pair of PID races at this distance last summer.
#9 Halon (9-2) ran well in back-to-back local claiming routes for Scooter Davis on June 29 and July 14, and he was an even fourth vs. this kind July 27.
