DMR 9 (G1 Del Mar Oaks, 9T) – Post Time 9:10 PM ET

Horse Comments:
#3 Tam Tam (4-1) ran well in all five turf starts (5 3-1-1). She tracked the pace and won by 5+ lengths as my top choice in the Tepin at 8T June 27. Her winning pilot Junior Alvarado comes in to ride and she should be forwardly placed from an advantageous post in a race lacking front end speed.
#10 Raiding Party (4-1) stalked from the inside post and scored by 2 lengths at 13-1 odds in her turf route bow at KEE last fall. She returned from a layoff of 7+ months and rallied to miss by a head as the favorite at 8.5T May 7 (first lasix), and she rallied wide from post 10 to score by 2 1/4 lengths as the chalk at CD June 4. She went off lasix and showed nice late interest when rallying to finish a better than appears third from the inside post as the favorite in the local G2 San Clemente at 8T July 18. She figures to enjoy this distance and should be finishing under her winning rider Ben Curtis.
There is a possibility that #9 Kensington Lane (3-1) is overrated. She won a G3 in Ireland in May, and shipped to SAR and got a great inside trip as a 23-1 longshot in the G1 Belmont Oaks on July 4. Joel Rosario sticks with her and she sports four local turf works for this. She might regress in her second start in this country, and she also might be in trouble if she is stuck stalking slow fractions while racing wide.
#2 Lookin At Diamond (15-1) showed some late interest when finishing 4th of 11 at 48-1 in her 6.5T bow April 4. She was the favorite at 8T second time out and she rallied smartly to graduate by 3 lengths. She raced wide from an outer post and finished a solid third in the Honeymoon at 8T June 6. Julien Leparoux is her new rider and she might be good enough to land a share.
