Horse Comments:
#4 Sand Bagger (5-2) stretched out, stalked the pace, and graduated in a Mcl-50k affair at 8T April 3. He stalked the pace and was an even 5th of 7 at 8T April 25 (beaten 2.5 lengths), and he stalked the pace and was clearly second best in a $25k claimer at 9T May 10. He returned from a short layoff July 31 and ended up an even 4th of 9 as my top choice (beaten 1.25 lengths). Peter Miller claimed him last time and his new rider Hector Berrios is 3-for-8 with this outfit. He exceeded the winning par for this in May.
#7 Redial (5-1) rallied for the show in a local $25k dirt route Aug. 14 and Ian Kruljac re-claimed him. He switches surfaces and Juan Hernandez is his new rider. He is 0-for-3 with zero top three finishes on turf.
#9 Prince of Del Mar (7-2) puts blinkers back on and drops in class, and this is his first start since November 2025. His last win was in a dirt sprint in 2024 and he hit the board in a trio of flat mile turf races last year including a pair of good local efforts under Armando Ayuso last August. He should impact the pace from the outside post and is not the only runner with early speed.
#1 Bee Eye Gee (4-1) dueled inside and ended up 4th of 5 in a local $32k dirt sprint Aug. 7. He stretches back out in his second start off a short layoff and he should be forwardly placed from the inside post. Joel Rosario sticks with him and he is 3-for-5 with Brian Koriner.
