#2 Magnificat (7-2) was part of the trifecta in 7 of 8 sprints on dirt and turf. She won the Desert Stormer at 6f June 11 and split next-out winners Sweet Azteca and Nooni in the G2 Great Lady M at 6.5f July 4. This is her first route and Richard Mandella’s early-pressing Omaha Beach filly drilled a local 3f bullet for this Sept. 1. She is bred to go this far and her recent numbers give her a look. She is 1-for-1 at DMR and Joel Rosario is her new rider.
#6 Howin (5-2) makes her first start since September 2025 for Bob Baffert. She won her flat mile MSW bow in 2024 and wired the field in a local flat mile OC-40k/1x affair last summer. Her other five starts were in the stakes ranks (5 0-1-2). She reunites with her winning debut pilot Juan Hernandez and she drilled a local 5f bullet for this Aug. 29.
#7 Our Moonlight (12-1) finally picked up that elusive second career win at this distance at LRC June 28. She drilled a local; 5f bullet for this Aug. 16 and Dean Pederson is a profitable 27% with this type of layoff runner and 25% in the non-graded stakes ranks.
#8 Amorita (4-1) stalked and scored as my top choice in the Daisycutter at 5T July 25. Her other two wins were at one mile on turf, and she sports a pair of local bullets since her last. She reconnects with her winning maiden pilot Kazushi Kimura and she is interesting if she handles dirt.
