Horse Comments:
#7 Medoro (7-2) took her game on the road this year with some stakes success. She won the Krantz Memorial at FG in January, landed the place in the Stall Memorial in February, and was a close third in the G1 Jenny Wiley in April. She was a wide 5th of 7 in the G3 Mint Julep May 30 and exits a show finish in the listed Sunkissed as the favorite at Ellis Park. She reconnects with Juan Hernandez and she likes this course (7 2-2-2) and distance (3 1-2-0). She landed the place in this event last summer.
#4 Thought Process (7-2) has been well managed by D’Amato. The 7-for-10 filly won both graded turf routes this year including the G1 Gamely at 9T in May. The early-pressing runner is 3-for-5 at DMR and runs well fresh, and Hector Berrios is 6 for 7 with her.
#3 Bojaca Blessing (8-1) finished full of run to win a local OC-100k turf route July 23 and she earned a quality late pace rating that day. She won her last two starts for Jose D’Angelo and her winning rider Hector Berrios jumps over to Thought Process. Mike Smith takes the call and she should be finishing in the lane.
#10 Vincey Girl (20-1) is also conditioned by D’Angelo and she was 5th of 7 (beaten 2 lengths) in the local G2 Yellow Ribbon Aug. 8. That was her first turf attempt and she was supplemented to this race for $2,500. She might be able to hit the board at a big number under Kazushi Kimura.
