#7 Magnificat (4-1) fired trifecta shots in 8 of 9 career starts. She was my top choice in the Tranquility Lake at 8f last time and she stumbled at the start and rallied for the win as the chalk, and that was her first route attempt. She is 2-for-4 with a runner-up finish at SA and she fired a local 4f bullet for this Sept. 18.
#1 Majestic Oops (7-2) was part of the trifecta in 7 of her last 10 stakes starts, and she rallied to miss the show by a nose in the G1 Clement L. Hirsch last out. The 9-time winner is classy and consistent, and she projects a comfortable inside stalking trip under her new rider Rispoli. She finished a clear third in the G2 Shawnee at this distance in June and the 1-2 finishers were next-out graded winners.
#4 Om N Joy (2-1) got the right setup in a sharp win in the G2 Santa Margarita May 30, and she rallied to miss by a half-length in the G1 Clement L. Hirsch. She took on the boys in the G1 Pacific Classic last time and she got pace help and passed tired runners to finish a respectable 4th of 11. The late runner is 4-for-6 at SA and she could easily take this from off the pace for Kent Desormeaux/Aggie Ordonez.
#6 Rabeeba (5-2) is 3-for-3 sophomore for Bob Baffert. The $750k Curlin filly was all over the pace in back-to-back wins to begin her promising career. She wired the field in her 6.5f bow, and dueled and scored at this course and distance second time out. Juan Hernandez hopped aboard for the G3 Torrey Pines Aug. 30 and she stalked the pace and pulled clear to win by 2 1/4 lengths as the favorite. The sophomore filly removes blinkers and should be right up on the pace.
