#2 Jordi Bear (3-1) added blinkers, had early trouble, and ended up a respectable 3rd of 8 in the G2 Del Mar Derby at 9T Aug. 23. He won at 7T in Ireland August 2025 and ran into red hot runner Proletariat in his first three starts in this country. Last time, he caught a slow early/fast late race shape and rallied to finish a half-length behind controlling speed He’s a Knockout as the 1-2 favorite. Joel Rosario got to know him last time and he has the best finishing kick in this field.
#8 Green Carrera (7-2) scratched from the G3 Autumn Miss at SA on Oct. 25 due to a superficial cut on her leg. She won 3 of 7 overseas turf starts and all of her wins were at one mile. She shipped to this country and broke slow and ran on to finish 4th of 10 in the G1 Del Mar Oaks at 9T, and winner Tam Tam clicked right back in the G1 QE II Challenge Cup. Leonard Powell has her now and Umberto Rispoli got to know her last time, and she is back at her winning distance.
#1 Tailgunner Joe (12-1) captured 2 of 14 overseas starts including a flat mile turf victory in February. Jonathan Thomas is 9-for-27 with new additions to his barn and he shows back-to-back TP bullets for this. The new gelding adds blinkers and Jamie Spencer is a 19% turf pilot.
#9 Deucari (6-1) was 11-1 in his 6T bow Sept. 25 and he chased from third and scored by 3 1/2 lengths. He stretches out and steps up in class.
