Check out my Wednesday (4-16-25) Keeneland Race 6 analysis below.
KEE 6 (Alw-120k, 4&up, 6f dirt) – Post Time 3:40 PM ET
Primary – #6 AUGUSTA MELODY, #3 Justifreak
Secondary – #5 Darioush
Horse Comments:
#6 Augusta Melody (3-1) is an 8-year-old gelding with a good overall record at this distance (8 3-2-1). He owns early-pressing versatility and Irad Ortiz, Jr. is his new rider, and he might work out the right tactical trip.
#3 Justifreak (4-1) ran well in three straight dirt sprints last year, and battled on the pace and faded to last of 12 when last seen October 2024. Flavien Prat takes the call and he might be the one to catch for profitable layoff trainer Eddie Kenneally.
#5 Darioush (7-2) hit the ground running from the inside post and won by 4 1/2 lengths as the 1-2 favorite in his FG dirt sprint debut March 8. He should be right up on the pace for the productive Curtis/Stidham team.
