Horse Comments:
#7 Pens Street (3-1) was part of the trifecta in eight of her last nine starts. She was clearly second best under Ben Curtis April 24 and he is a profitable 3-for-8 with Chris Hartman recently. That last race did not set up for her and she might show a bit more in her third start after a long layoff.
#4 Pharoah’s Heart (5-2) rallied to win a 6f optional-claiming sprint in the mud at OP March 29. The 8-year-old mare is 3-for-5 with a runner-up finish at this distance and she gets in light with apprentice Irving Moncada.
#6 Liuzza (8-1) exits a turf route win as the favorite at Houston. She returns to dirt and fired a half-mile bullet for this May 8. Axel Concepcion is 3-for-12 with Bret Calhoun and she should impact the pace.
#9 Tiffany Twist (8-1) broke slow from the inside post and rallied for the place at six panels April 25. She romped around two turns at this distance at OP late last year.
