Check out my Monday (8-4-25) Presque Isle Downs Race 7 analysis below.

PID 7 (Lady Erie, 3yo fillies, 6 furlongs all-weather) – Post Time  6:12 PM ET
Primary – #5 GATA BRAZIL, #4 Brindi
Secondary – #3 Barbara Joan, #10 Mighty Eriu

Horse Comments:

#5 Gata Brazil (9-2) is a decent turf sprinter at Laurel Park. She won two races at that venue including the Stormy Blues in June. She has yet to fire away from her Maryland base and exits a 5th of 6 in the Coronation Cup (G3) at Saratoga. The $575k Into Mischief filly drilled a half-mile bullet for this at Fair Hill on July 26. Jevian Toledo is 2-for-2 with her and Brittany Russell is 31% with horses moving from turf to synthetic.

#4 Brindi (5-1) exits an even 4th of 9 in the Pea Patch at 5.5T. She is 3-for-5 on all-weather ground and two of those wins were in the stakes ranks. She projects a stalking trip in her second start after a short layoff.

#3 Barbara Joan (7-2) wired the field from the outside post in her turf sprint bow in January and the 2-3 finishers were next-out winners. She returned from a layoff and stalked the pace from the inside post and was second best as the favorite in an all-weather sprint at Woodbine in July. She has every right to run faster in her second start after a long layoff.

#10 Mighty Eriu (5-2) settled for the place as the beaten favorite in her last two turf sprints. She reconnects with Ben Curtis and loses lasix, and an outside stalking trip is anticipated.
