#5 Roscoe Pine (3-1) dueled on the lead from an outer post and was second best in a $12.5k route on synthetic ground as a 46-1 longshot Dec. 5, and he chased and weakened to 6th of 7 in a $17.5k affair at this course/distance Dec. 24. He drops in class and won a pair of local claiming synthetic routes last year. Irad Ortiz, Jr. takes the call and he should impact the pace.
#2 Frank’s Art (4-1) was a non-threatening 6th of 9 in a starter allowance route Dec. 5 and he rallied to miss by a neck in a $10k claimer Dec. 27. This is his third start off a layoff and he will try to get involved from off the pace.
#6 Vladislav (8-1) switches surfaces for profitable 21% dirt/synthetic trainer Victor Barboza, Jr. This one handles all-weather ground (14 3-2-2) and he drilled a 3f bullet for this Jan. 23. He can rally for a share at a price.
#7 Full Nelson (5-1) set a pressured pace and was second best in a $12.5k route on all-weather footing in November, and he chased and faded to 7th of 8 in a $25k claimer in December. He should be competitive at this level.
#1 Salvattore Prince (7-3) rallied for the place in a $10k event at this course and distance Jan. 17. He figures to save ground behind the speed and might show a bit more in his second start off a layoff.
#4 American Farmer (9-2) drops in class, adds blinkers, and stretches back out in his third start off a long layoff. The veteran performer is a 7-time winner on all-weather ground.
