Weather: Temperatures in the mid-70’s with low chance of showers
Race 8: Gr. II $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes (8.5F, Turf, 3yr Old Fillies)
#4 – Consumer Spending (7-2): Finished a close third in the Gr. I Belmont Oaks and cuts back from 10F’s to 8.5F’s. Manny Franco will be in the saddle, and he’s been aboard for three of the filly’s four wins. #8 – Koala Princess (12-1) ran third in the Gr. III Lake George and could benefit from the extra half furlong. Plays: #4 to Win, Exacta Box 4,8
Race 10: Gr. I $600,000 Alabama Stakes (10F, Dirt, 3yr Old Fillies)
#4 – Nest (1-2): Has won five of eight for Todd Pletcher and took the Gr. I CCA Oaks by 12 lengths in her last start. The further the better for this filly and I don’t see anyone touching her at 10F’s. #3 – Gerrymander (7-2) won the Gr. II Mother Goose on June 25 and will go past 8.5F’s for the first time in her career. #6 – She’s Keen (30-1) is 1-for-1 over the track and has the pedigree to match this race. Jose Lezcano jumps aboard and this one could spice up the exotics. Plays: #4 to Win, Trifecta Key 4 /3,5,6
