Wagers: #5 to win, Exacta 2-5-6/9, Trifecta Key 5/2-6-9
Comments: #5 Classic Catch (9-2) owns a pair of wins at this 1 1/8 mile distance. He adds blinkers for Pletcher after racing wide from post 10 and finishing fifth in the Wood Memorial (G2). He reconnects with his winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr. and a stalking trip is expected. #9 Bishops Bay (8-5) beat his talented stablemate First Mission in his sprint bow, and that was a fast race and the top two finishers were well clear of the rest. He stretched out and won a slow early/fast late event by a neck second time out. Geroux sticks with Brad Cox’s $450k Uncle Mo colt and he will probably attend the pace from the outside post. #2 Slip Mahoney (4-1) is cross-entered in the Long Branch at Monmouth. He ran fast in back-to-back flat mile races at Aqueduct prior to his distant runner-up finish in the Gotham (G3). He did not have a very good trip in the Gotham and found early trouble in the Wood Memorial (G2) last time. Rosario hops aboard and he is bred to handle this trip. #6 Go Soldier Go (8-1) is now conditioned by Pletcher and Prat takes the call. He won back-to-back races in Dubai at 1 3/16 miles earlier this year and was a well-beaten fifth in the UAE Derby (G2). He shows four training track works at Belmont.
