BEL 8 (G3 Vagrancy, 6.5f)
Primary – #2 ROSSA VELOCE, #3 Caramel Swirl
Secondary – #1 Funny How, #6 Dr B, #5 Beguine
Wagers: #2 to win, Exacta 2-3/1-2-3, Trifecta 2-3-5-6/2-3-5-6/1

Comments: #2 Rossa Veloce (9-2) had a troubled start as the favorite in the Distaff (G3) last time and that really cost her. She won four of five starts for Rob Atras before that and can make some serious noise in this spot with a clean getaway. #3 Caramel Swirl (2-1) looked good in a local win last year for Bill Mott. She ran one other time last year and that was a runner-up finish in the Ballerina (G1). She was an even fourth in her stakes return at Tampa Bay, and she sports three bullets since and can go better in this spot. #1 Funny How (6-1) always finishes in the top three. The NY-bred filly won a state bred stakes race Feb. 12 and exits a runner-up finish in the Distaff (G3). #6 Dr B (5-2) exits a sharp wire job in the slop in Go For Wand (G3), and this is her first start in 5+ months. Ortiz Jr. will probably have her forwardly placed but she probably won’t make the lead this time. #5 Beguine (5-1) was in good form late last year for Allard. She exits a productive race but that was 5+ months ago, and I like her tactical speed.
